These doors tilt up in one solid piece when opened, with part of the door projecting out in a "canopy" or retracting into the garage on a track. The simplest and often the most affordable type to install, but require more space in front of the garage for the canopy version. The retractable version moves horizontally along tracks mounted on the garage ceiling.
